Random Conglomeration...

Ok beware, this post is extremely random and all over the place. Since I haven't blogged in a little while I feel there is a lot to catch up on. Most importantly of all my glorious new camera (well I should say "our" glorious new camera)!!! This little beauty arrived a few weeks ago and Chris and I are pretty happy with the decision. I think we were both surprised with how user friendly this model is. Chris has actually been using it just as much as me. So needless to say ever since this has arrived we have been shooting everything in sight, which is why this is going to be such a random posting.
---------------------------------------
First off we celebrated Wade and Erin's wedding a couple weekends ago. Chris was the best man and we had a really fun time. Although, I have to say heels are definitely not a pregnant girl's friend. After a few hours my feet were about to die. But it really was a fun celebration, here are a few snaps from that.

The happy lovebirds.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next up, last week Chris and I went out for a hike to try and get this baby movin. Well, that didn't exactly happen, but we still had fun out on the trails. I have been walking like a mad women, determined that that will move the baby down and out haha :) But this baby has a mind of its own, so no action yet, but in the meantime if you are looking for me I am probably out pacing the sidewalks.
Chris was so excited to be going for another walk that he decided to jump for joy :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And finally in baby news, well, we are still here waiting patiently. I had a Dr. appointment on Monday and everything looks fine. I'm 39 1/2 weeks today. So whenever this little lady or fellow decides to make his or her apperance it is fine with us. We have all the gear ready to go. Swing and packnplay are assembled in the living room, and Mitzy and Sophie are anxiously awaiting the new arrival :) However, I'm not getting my hopes up too high because, just so you all know I have a feeling it could be another week or two...

full term.

I feel this week is somewhat of a milestone for us because I am officially 37 weeks, holler! Meaning, if the baby would come now it would be okay because I am full term. Obviously it probably won't be for a couple more weeks, but it is definitely a relief knowing that we have made it this far safely. I went to the Dr. on Monday and everything is still looking right on track. My belly measured 37 cm , which is exactly what it is supposed to be. Babies HR is 138... So, Chris and I are just hanging out here trying to get everything else in order. There are a few small things I still need to get, and I still need to pack the bags. But otherwise I think we are as ready as we will ever be. Nudger has been moving around like crazy, I think he/she definitely wants out, or maybe that is just my wishful thinking :)

I cannot wait to see what this little babe is, girl or a boy, Phoebe or Phoebo. So what do you all think? I know you've been reading this blog because I see 70 votes on our boy or girl poll. So far we are at 40 for a boy, and 33 for a girl. However, I cannot see who voted for what. Because I want to know what you all are thinking leave me a comment with your name and what you think Nudger is going to be :) I'm very curious.

In other news Chris and I made a huge purchase this week! We finally broke down and ordered a new Cannon xsi, SLR, digital, glorious, beautiful, huge camera!!! I have wanted a new one forever, and so we figured now is as good of time as any to get it before nudger arrives. I actually got a really good deal online which I was pumped about! I tracked the shipping progress this morning and it is "out for delivery"! So sometime today it should be arriving and I am watching for that UPS truck like a hawk. However, I am starting to feel a little nervous about getting such a big camera since it has been awhile since I've used one and now I'm feeling a little intimidated! So, if any of you have any photography tips please pass them on. Actually I'm just thinking about going out to buying "SLR's for Dummies" as a refresher course.
Hope you all have a glorious weekend!

hello belly, goodbye feet

Throughout this pregnancy Chris has been taking weekly photos of my belly, and the change has been pretty astonishing! We usually take these pics every week in front of the fire place, and I do the same pose/position, pretty simple. However, a few months ago I was talking to one of my friends from work and she volunteered to take some pregnancy pictures for us. I was thrilled! I had wanted some more photos to document this time in our lives, but with all the other items we've had to purchase, pictures got pushed to the bottom of the list. So a couple weeks ago Angie came over with her camera and got some awesome shots of us just around our house! I loved this shoot so much because I think it turned out to be more personal then just going to a studio. Ang has been messing around with photography as a hobby, but I'm trying to convince her to go into business :) The photos turned out so cute and were exactly what I wanted. Hopefully sometime I can return the favor to her :) Check them out, didn't she do an awesome job?!?

Baby Fever

Last week our besties Jake and Christy were blessed with the appearance of their little gum-drop Silas Jacob! You would have thought when I got that text message from Christy early Wednesday morning that I had gone into labor myself :) I was kind of dozing in bed, and as soon as I read that text that she was in the hospital I jumped out of bed and was wide awake. It was kind of funny actually because since I couldn't sleep I think I kind of went in to nesting mode, haha! It was about 7:30 am and I decided to go on a baking binge, and started whipping out fresh bread and oatmeal cookies. Chris came down stairs and he was like what the heck are you doing? I really didn't know why, but baking seemed like a good idea. So I continued to bake the rest of the morning (with my glorious kitchenaid I might add). But then by about 1pm I ran out of energy. I figured she must have had the baby by then!?! So I decided to go for a walk to kill more time. Then by about 5 pm I was thinking she must have had the baby by now! lol. I was so anxious, Chris kept telling me to calm down. We decided to go out to eat that night with the Gilsons, and then at supper I got the long awaited call! Baby Silas had arrived, everyone was healthy. I could not have been happier :) Chris and I both had the next day off and decided to make a quick trip to DM to visit. Of course when I saw the little peanut I got all emotional. He was just darling! I kept looking at Chris saying, "This is going to be us in like a month! Holy Cow!" So of course we got some good pics with the little fellow. I am so happy for Christy and Jake, they were both beaming with pride, it was seriously the cutest thing ever. And if it's even possible, now I'm a billion times more excited to see our own little nudger!!!

Another reason I was dying to make a quick trip out to DM was to see my cousin Rohana, her husband Derrick and new baby Dominic. After leaving the hospital we were able to stop by their apartment for a visit. I finally got to meet precious little Dom and he was just as sweet as I knew he would be :) He is already four months old! It was crazy to see him after seeing Jake and Christy's new baby, because they really grow up crazy fast in just four months! Dominic was smiling, holding his head up, and laughing, he is just at an adorable age. It was so good to catch up with Rohana and Derrick, thanks for supper guys :)

Spring is here... I think.

I just love spring for so many reasons. 1. The sunshine is back 2. I can go for walks outside again. 3. The dogs can play in the backyard. 4. We can start to grill out again. 5. Garden planting. 6. Easter. 7. The grass is turning green. 8. The farmer's market opens soon. 9. Wearing jackets instead of coats. 10. NUDGER'S ARRIVAL WILL BE THIS SPRING :)

I am 33 weeks right now and not a whole lot has changed, which is why I have been in somewhat of a blogging slump. Chris and I have been going to our Bradley classes and preparing for the birth. I've still been doing prenatal yoga, which is getting harder and harder every week with this belly :) But overall the baby is just growing like crazy. I think nudger hit a huge growth spurt last week because all of a sudden the little kicks turned into somersaults and all out gymnastic events! He/she is starting to get very strong in there. I will just be setting still and all of a sudden nudger will roll over to one half of my stomach, and it will be completely lopsided. It is crazy weird. All of the Dr.'s visits have been normal so far, so we are just here counting down the days :)

Nudger's Nursery

I know these pics have been a long time coming, but I finally found the time to sit down and blog about them. The nursery has really came together quite nicely if I do say so myself. There were a few set-backs here and there, but overall it worked out in the end. Chris and I started out with the painting back in December. Although Chris wasn't convinced about having an orange wall I persuaded him. I figured with all of the white furniture and three other white walls it would balance out the orange. The orange wall turned out fine, but if you don't remember from my previous posts, I had to go back and re-paint the white walls. They just weren't white enough and I was worried they would clash with the furniture. The new white walls are much better. After the painting we started collecting furniture. We had already purchased the glider last fall, and the crib was set up as well. We ended up painting this old shelf I found at my parents house white and putting it under the window for some extra storage. We also added in another rocking chair. This was also donated by my mom for her "grandma bedroom". But I thought it would be nice to have two chairs in the nursery.

I also decided to use this little stand that we had been using as a tv stand, and change it into a changing table. So, that too got a coat of white paint and a bit of a makeover. I snatched this little stand out of a junk shop for twenty bucks a couple years ago.
Here it is before:
And After:

After we had all the furniture in the room it was time for the decals to go up :) Actually thanks to Chris the process was really pretty painless. It took a couple hours, but once we got the hang of it, it really wasn't bad. The hardest part was getting all of the branches level. I ended up cutting out all of the pieces and putting them in order while Chris applied them to the wall.

The end product was definitely worth the work. So, here are some pics of the completed room. I love the orange wall!

I found a little bird mobile online, so we added that into the mix.

A few minor details:

Whew, so thats pretty much the jist of it all. Let me know what you think?!?

Holler for 30 Weeks!

We've reached the 30 week mark and I feel like this is a big milestone. Man it feels good to be out of the 20's :) And only 10 more weeks seems like nothin! Nudger's kicks are definitely stronger and I am starting to be able to make out the body parts that are squirming around in there, which is incredibly weird and amazing all at once.

We also started our childbirth education class tonight which was interesting. We decided to take a Bradley Method class. It is 8 weeks long, which I wondered about at first, but holy cow we have a lot to learn. Tonight was great! Chris and I learned a lot about exercises to do while pregnant, and nutrition. It was so informative, I was definitely impressed. Chris seemed to like it too. They talk a lot about the "coach" and what the coach can do to help during pregnancy/labor. I think this is going to be so helpful because then Chris feels like he has specific things he can do to help me. We have 7 more weeks of this class, which will put us up to right before we are due!

A few more facts about 30 weeks:
-Nudger weighs about 2.5 - 3 pounds
-I'm feeling like I'm the clumsiest person in the world, I trip, run into, or head butt everything in sight!
-Currently craving: Arby's roast beef sandwiches
-The heartburn has reared its nasty head in the past week
-18 days until spring
And here is what 30 weeks looks like, if you were wondering.
