Random Wednesday

So, some funny things happened around our house today. Number one. The baby has been sleeping from about 7pm to 5:30am, which is more amazing then I can even explain! I haven't slept 6 or 7 straight hours since I was probably about 7 months preggo. This morning Baby woke up at about 5:30, I went in and fed her and she dozed back to sleep in her crib until 6:30, when she woke up again. So I went in again and figured it was time to get up for the day. Well, she was still a little sleepy so her and I decided to doze in the chair until daddy got home. A few minutes later Dad showed up and baby woke up, looked at him, and then promply projectile vomited all over me. And then she did it two more times. And then she smiled :) It was so weird because she really stopped spitting up around 8 months old, so this was completely random. So her, I, and the chair were covered in puke. I decided we better both just get a bath because I hate that sour milk smell. So we both jumped in the tub. We usually don't do this because I like the water much hotter then Viv, but decided too this morning to save time. So before the tub is even full I look down, and what do I see? Baby poo. That's right. This was definitely a morning of firsts because she has never done that before either! It was completely disgusting. Once again Viv was just happy as a clam, she must have felt better to get that out of her system. It turned out to be a pretty short bath, which leads me to number two: Cleaning the tub.

Finally after all the shenanigans had calmed down, Chris went to sleep and we decided to have breakfast. Number three: I went to make our oatmeal and while opening the new box punched a hole into the flimsy package = oatmeal all over the floor. As I'm cleaning it up I realized I didn't get my favorite kind of oatmeal which is, Thick and Hearty Maple and Brown Sugar, I just got plain ole Maple and Brown Sugar. Dangit! So not only is there oatmeal all over the floor, I got the wrong kind. Double Whammy! You might wonder why I'm so concerned about what kind of oatmeal I got? Well, I will save my oatmeal rantings for their own special post next week. Anyway, I swept the extra crumbs under the frig and we got on with breakfast. So far the rest of the morning has been glorious! Some cute little boy stopped by our house yesterday selling candy bars, I bought a snickers and had it for my mid-morning snack today and it was devine! Viv had a bite too :)

So basically the morning started off a bit rough, but it was kinda funny too. You know when people tell you, "kids poop and puke everywhere". Well, I'm here to tell you its true :) But, I hate to say it, its totally worth it. Did I mention I have baby fever again? Well, thats right, I do. And so I will leave you with that. Those are my random Wednesday thoughts. Don't worry 10 month photos will be up soon, because I know thats what ya'll want to see anyway :)

9 months

3/4 year old, hooray! Vivian is doing so many cute things I can barely keep up. She just started getting her 8th tooth (which is practically 8 teeth in 6 months :S ). Every time she starts getting a tooth the sleep goes out the window. But I am just thankful that she is healthy and happy. We have had some sleepless nights lately, but I know that it is not going to last forever, and soon she will be 1, and then 2, and then I might miss waking up at night to hold her (maybe;). In the spirit of spring Vivian has started to wear dresses with leggings, which is the cutest thing ever! They are so cute with her cloth dipes and leg warmers I just want to pinch her cheeks. She's getting a little more hair, but it is still pretty sparse on the top. Here is her 9 month drumroll:
* She gives kisses and hugs
* She claps
* She can climb up the steps
* She can free stand
* She can edge around all the furniture
* She can push her toy and walk behind it
* She can eat everything we eat for supper as long as its mashed up a bit
* 8 Teeth
* Says mama
Holy cow it has been a big month! Which I'm guessing is maybe why she still wakes up so much? Maybe she is just to excited to sleep with all these new developments, ha :) Photos:

Bookworm Baby

Vivian is turning into quite the bookworm :)

eight months

Vivian turned 8 months old January 18th which already feels like a year ago, even though it was only a month ago :) This was an awesome age for her because she started doing so many precious things, such as:
* Saying mama! :)
* Eating finger foods
* Playing with the dogs
* Pulling herself up on furniture
* Crawling everywhere
* Playing in the tupperware
* Playing in everything
She's started having some stranger danger, and becomes quite shy around new people. But then when she gets to know them she warms right up, it just takes some time now :) Chris took her over to one of his friends house's for the superbowl and he told me she wouldn't leave his side, and that he secretly loved that he was the one that she wouldn't let go of :) How sweet! She terrorizes the dogs, but they are remarkable good with her. I think Sophie might be a little scared of her and just dodges out of the way when Viv comes plowing through. Also, Vivian has a new nickname, Tootsie. (This started at about 5 months, I just forgot to talk about it then :) Chris's nickname when he was little was Mootsie (Which his parents still call him). So one weekend he started calling Vivian Tootsie, and it just stuck. Tootsie Pop, Tootsie Roll, Toots, she's just a little Tootsie.
Here are the pics, it is getting harder and harder to get these ones with the sign because she is so mobile now!!!

Christmas Shenanigans

Well, I thought I would give y'all the run-down of our little Christmas this year. I had to work because the holiday fell on a weekend, so my family decided to come up here and hang out with Mr C. and Viv so they wouldn't get lonely. Also, then when I got off of work I could speed home sooner to hang out. My mom actually headed up on Thursday evening because she was so excited she just couldn't stay away any longer. She also has her own "room" now. So I think that she feels as though our house is her little bed and breakfast. She calls it "the Grandma room", and is constantly bringing up items from her house to add to the room. Actually, one of my Christmas presents, was actually a new lamp for her room, ha. Anyway, the point is she came on Thursday, and the rest of the crew headed up on Friday. We had planned to go to Christmas Eve church at our church up here at 7. So at about 5:30 I decided to check my email just to double check the times for church and of course it started at 6!!! I must have been emotional because of all the Christmas spirit or something because when I realized the mistake I made I promptly teared up. Oh brother! Well luckily they had another service at 11, but that unfortunately was too late for the babe and myself. So we took a rain check while the rest of the fam attended. I guess it all worked out because we ended up opening presents before church on Christmas Eve, but I was still slightly devastated, Christmas Eve church is just the best, (can you tell I'm not over it?).
Okay, the rest of the weekend was basically spent eating snacks, playing games, and relaxing.

Uncle Ted (as he calls himself) with Viv

After the weekend festivities we packed up and headed out late Monday night for O-town. We left at Vivian's bedtime thinking that she would hopefully sleep the whole way and then just hop into bed once we got there. Well the plan worked pretty well. Our travels went great, she slept the whole time. However, after we got there she went to sleep, but then woke up an hour later. Needless to say this was right after we had been letting her cry it out at home, and had gotten on a decent schedule. Well, I figured she was just uncomfortable in her new surroundings. Next night the same thing happened, only worse. She was up almost every hour! All night I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Turns out I looked in her mouth the next morning and she was getting in 4 top teeth. Well that explained it. For the rest of the trip she was fine during the day, but the nights were worse then when she was an infant. Zero sleep :) So on that note, we still really did have a good time showing her off to the family during the day, and Chris and I got naps here and there. Everything is just a phase, right? :)
Viv got a snow suit, we thought it was pretty cute, she was not a fan.

She loves hanging out with her uncle Travister

Oh, hello parenthood, so this is what it looks like to have 1 hour of sleep, no shower, and no makeup. Man we look gross, ha!

Oh a few more presents.

First Family Christmas.

seven months

Funny that I am posting Vivian's 7 month pics on her 8 month birthday :) Well people, your just going to have to take what I give ya. Here is the list of things Vivian could do at 7 months.
* She can crawl
* She eats three small meals a day
* She weighs 17 pounds
* She's getting in four top teeth
* She is obsessed with things she can't have, (aren't we all) like the remote, cell phone. This baby, she just loves the electronics.
She also had a very good Christmas with my family at our house, then right after Christmas we headed off for a road trip to Omaha. While on this trip she started cutting four teeth on the top. So to combine that with being in a new environment she was not a happy camper. But we made it through and it was really great to see the Omaha fam.

Vivian is 6 Months

I am truly sorry if I have turned into a disappointment on this blog :( Bear with me as I will still try to post here and there as I can. I know that everyone always says it, but where the heck has the time gone! I can't believe little Vivian is 6, almost 7 months old! She is growing like a weed! A few things to note about life around our house right now:
- Chris currently has the stomach flu and is sick in bed
- I have been sick a bagillion times this year, no joke! I don't know if pregnancy/childbirth just took it out of me or what, but if I am exposed to any tiny little germ I seem to catch it. Which really gets on my nerves because I'm usually never sick!
- Vivian just got over her second cold! She is a trooper. 2 weeks exactly and she fought it right off. (Maybe she is stealing all of my immunity :)
- The dogs are still here and kicking, although sometimes I want to kick them, ha :) It really is true though after you have a baby you really don't care about them any more, which is just sad...
- I am anxiously awaiting our Christmas cards to come so I can hopefully send them before Christmas!!! Please USPS bring me something good today!
- I have been trying to get Christmas shopping done, which is way harder then I thought it would be. Vivian is actually really good in stores, but I am lacking the motivation to go out myself and shop. I would much rather sit on the couch and watch Ellen :)
- Speaking of Ellen, I am addicted! She is having her 12 days of giveaways these past weeks, and man oh man do I wish I could win that stuff! I enter every day online :)
- Vivian still is not sleeping though the night. I kept making excuses the past 3 months about why I should wake up and let her nurse ( She has a cold, she's going through a growth spurt, she's getting teeth, blah blah blah), but I've finally ran out of excuses and so we are letting her cry it out this week. I am not a fan :(
- Vivian can almost crawl! She rocks back and forth on all fours and picks her hand up, but doesn't know where to put it at. Too Cute!
- I am thankful for my Bestie Melissa! Thanks to her I have been watching some great flicks lately! I certainly can't remember the last time I have been to the theatre. So after the baby is in bed we have been hitting up blockbuster! We watched Despicable Me last night and we all loved it! Nothing like a good flick.
- Vivian has starting eating 3 meals a day. I keep meaning to make her homemade baby food but haven't gotten around to it, so I keep buying Gerber. Any tips on that?
- We joined a small group at our church and we love it! I am so thankful for something during the week since we both work on Sundays.
- Speaking of Sundays, we might be making a few adjustments to our work schedules, so please pray for us that everything will work out. More on that later hopefully, if everything works out.
- We had a splendid Thanksgiving with both some Wardy's and Yoder's in house. It was a great time, and maybe sometime I'll post some pictures, but don't hold me too it.
- Vivian is the cutest, happiest, best, baby ever ( most of the time :) So here are some 6 month photos, which is why ya'll check this blog anyway, right?

* We had to start putting the sign behind Vivian because she grabs it now and wants to eat it :)
